Shebara resort wins Project of the Future

Our groundbreaking Shebara resort, in collaboration with Killa Design, has been awarded Project of the Future at the Identity Design Awards 2023! 

Each unit was constructed and equipped offshore before being seamlessly integrated into the resort's solar-powered infrastructure. This light-touch approach preserves the island's pristine natural environment, its vibrant coral reefs, and diverse wildlife.

We are developing a regulatory framework that comprises innovative policies and strategies to facilitate our ambitious sustainability and regeneration commitments. This includes the regulation of fisheries, removal of invasive species in the area, conservation zones and the expansion of green and blue habitats to encourage regeneration and carbon sequestration.

We’ve invested heavily in innovative construction methods such as off-site manufacturing while we are using sustainable products and materials, for example green concrete.

OSHA Training

Red Sea Global launched the “OSHA Training” Initiative to train 60 local community members on Health and Safety measures (OSHA) giving them skills to help them enter the job market. The trainees go through 25 training hours each across five days. Successful trainees receive a certification of completion accredited from Saudi Arabia's Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

Nursery Training program

Red Sea Global launched “Nursery Training Jobs” to upskill 60 farmers from the local community, creating new employment opportunities. The scheme utilizes their existing knowledge in farming while introducing new techniques and equipping them with the skills needed to work in the Landscape Nursery

Marine Operation Jobs

Red Sea Global launched the “Marine Operation Jobs” program to train and hire 40 maritime technicians from the local community including boat captains, assistant boat captains, logistics coordinators, and assistant logistics coordinators.

Amerah Souq

Red Sea Global launched its socioeconomic empowerment initiative “Amerah Souq” in November 2022 with the aim of providing local individuals and SMEs with opportunities to promote their services and products such as agricultural produce, culinary products, and handicrafts.

Farmer’s Cooperative

Red Sea Global launched a “Farmers Cooperative” in November 2022 to help the local farmers (which number around 2,000 farms) benefit from our projects as well as provide a sustainable food supply for them.

English for Tourism

Red Sea Global launched “English for Tourism”, an online six-month general English program, to equip 600 young locals with the language skills needed to work in the tourism industry. This includes the potential to become tour guides for visitors to The Red Sea and Amaala.

Red Sea Global launched “Tent of Tales” to preserve and document the local intangible cultural heritage. A series of 10 community seminars host local experts and storytellers to share their knowledge with more than 800 guests from the local community. The sessions focus on multiple themes including traditional craftsmanship like textile, ship making and net making, in addition to traditional music and dances.

Red Sea Global launched a “Culinary Art” initiative, which involved visiting towns and villages around The Red Sea & Amaala to explore and document the culinary culture and offerings of the local area.

Sustainable Art

Red Sea Global launched a “Sustainable Art” initiative during Environment Week to encourage beach clean-up activities and to inspire artistic pursuits. An Alwajh volunteering group participated with members from different age groups including kids, young people and senior volunteers. Following the clean-up, art murals using plastic waste were created by local artist Thanwa Alqarawi. The initiative raises awareness among the local community about the harmful impact of plastic on marine and coastal ecosystems.

Safety Culture Awareness

Red Sea Global launched its “Safety Culture Awareness” initiatives to extend general safety knowledge to 850 technical college students, online and in-person. The scheme introduces the students to fundamental concepts in safety which will enable them to use their learned skills daily.

VISION 2030

The Red Sea Global (RSG) was established in 2018 as a closed joint stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia to drive the development of The Red Sea Project, a regenerative tourism destination along Saudi Arabia’s west coast, and one of three giga-projects announced by HRH Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud in 2017.
