John Pagano

John Pagano is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s economic roadmap for the future.   

 


At RSG, John is leveraging his nearly 40 years of international experience in delivering large scale multi-billion-dollar developments. Since 2018, he has led RSG’s growth from the ground up, and today is creating unique eco-luxury, sustainable, regenerative tourist destinations that will contribute to transforming the global tourism industry and to the diversification of the Saudi Arabian economy. Underpinned by a growing portfolio of subsidiary companies, RSG will better enable the delivery of the company vision for developments that do better for people and planet, addressing the global challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.   

 

Prior to joining RSG, John established his own international strategic advisory company, Old Fort Capital Investments Ltd, drawing on his extensive experience, providing strategic advice internationally on large scale real estate developments.   

 


John holds a BA.Sc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He also studied Corporate Finance at the London Business School.

Meet The Leadership Team | Red Sea Global

John Pagano is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s economic roadmap for the future.

GROUP CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Eng. Ahmad G. Darwish

Eng. Ahmad G. Darwish is the Group Chief Administrative Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s blueprint for economic diversification and sustainable development.  

 


With over 20 years of project management, business development, and strategic planning experience, Ahmad has been instrumental in developing RSG’s business strategy. He is responsible for its day-to-day operations, human resources management, finance and administration functions as well as overseeing development and implementation of company policies and regulations to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. In addition, he ensures that all departments and employees are in accordance with the company's vision and objectives. 

 


Prior to joining RSG, Ahmad spent 20 years working for Saudi Aramco where he managed multiple projects for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), including the KAUST Research Park Infrastructure Project and the Saudi Aramco Research Center. 

 


He is a certified member of the Project Management Institute and the Saudi Council of Engineers and holds a BSc in Electric Engineering from the University of Portland, US, and an MSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, UK. 

GROUP CHIEF ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER

Raed Albasseet

Raed Albasseet is the Group Chief Environment and Sustainability Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s blueprint for economic diversification and sustainable development.

 


Raed joined RSG in 2018, bringing with him 19 years of environmental leadership experience from renowned regional and international companies. He desires to safeguard and improve the environment, and RSG offered him the chance to participate in the environmentally friendly development of one of Saudi Arabia's most beautiful areas. The Red Sea and AMAALA inspired him due to his marine and environmental background.

 


Raed has built a world-class team of experts at RSG while developing a bespoke environmental governance and management framework to produce environmentally friendly content for our world-class development agenda. Some of the most important achievements include leading Saudi Arabia's largest marine spatial exercise, building an integrated stakeholder engagement platform, developing educational outreach programs aligned with internationally acknowledged best practices (including the equator principles and UN SDGs), developing solutions to ecosystem services issues within project design, construction, and operation, and including ESG commitments.

 

Prior to joining RSG, Raed worked as an International Environmental Policies and Regulatory Lead for Saudi Aramco. He focused on Environmental and Sustainability in Private Partnerships and Public-private environmental partnerships as well as international environmental conventions, such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Paris Agreement, and the UN Sustainability Development Goals.

 


Raed was previously the Head of Pollution and Environment Engineering at Vela International Marine, a Saudi Aramco subsidiary that is one of the world's largest maritime services providers and is established as Saudi Arabia’s National Shipping Carrier. He has served as the delegated Vice Chair of the Climate Change Working Group of the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) in the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea & Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) and assisted the Ministry of Energy, Industry & Mineral Resources (MEIM) in meeting International Maritime Organization technical safety and environmental regulations.

 


Raed earned a Master of Science in Safety and Environmental Administration from the World Maritime University in Sweden and a Bachelor from Solent University in the UK. Raed has studied and worked both at home and abroad, therefore he has an in-depth knowledge of both cultural and international best practices concerning environmental issues in Saudi Arabia.

 

GROUP CHIEF INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER

Tareq Musmali

Tareq Musmali is the Group Chief Internal Audit Officer for Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play a key role in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s blueprint for economic diversification and sustainable development. 

 

Tareq was appointed in April 2021 and is a Certified Auditor with over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining RSG, Tareq served in increasingly responsible roles at Saudi Aramco, including managing internal audit teams responsible for auditing its owned, joint venture, and subsidiaries facilities; and leading the Internal Audit Department for Saudi Aramco’s Overseas Company in the Hague, Netherlands.  Before his appointment as Group Chief, Tareq served as the Chief Internal Auditor for AMAALA.

GROUP CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER AND GROUP HEAD OF INVESTMENTS

Greg Djerejian

Greg Djerejian is the Group Chief Legal Officer and Group Head of Investments at Red Sea Global (RSG) and is leading the development and implementation of the Group’s overall Investment & Legal functions. He is responsible for all Group legal affairs, including corporate and commercial law, construction and delivery, projects and operations, and hospitality and real estate law. His duties also encompass RSG’s investments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, capital markets and investor relations, as well as special regulatory matters – notably spearheading the creation of the Red Sea Zone Authority (RSZA). Additionally, Greg holds various positions on key company subsidiary boards and committees. 

 

Greg has over three decades of experience in investments, real estate acquisitions and development, private equity, and corporate law. He has worked extensively alongside leading international investors, private equity and hedge fund groups, sovereign wealth funds, and multi-national investment banks, across the spectrum of finance, legal, crisis, and strategy. 

 

Greg comes from a diverse background having lived and worked across Europe, Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, with extensive Mainland experience), and the MENA region. He has served on multiple boards of directors globally and is a member of the Young President's Organization (YPO), New York State Bar, and was previously a Council on Foreign Relations Term Member.  

 

Greg holds a MBA from Columbia Business School, a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center, a BSFS from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and graduated from Phillips Academy - Andover.  

GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Martin Greenslade

As the Group Chief Financial Officer at Red Sea Global (RSG), Martin Greenslade is responsible for leading the full range of financial responsibilities across the multi-project developer and its subsidiary companies.

 

 Martin brings over 30 years of experience, thanks to a distinguished career in real estate, financial services, defense, and manufacturing sectors across the UK, Europe, and Africa.

 

 After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Martin spent 10 years in corporate finance, including helping to found a Nordic-focused boutique, before moving on to Alvis Plc as Group Finance Director.

 

 Before joining RSG, he spent 16 years as Chief Financial Officer of Land Securities Group Plc, one of the largest commercial property development and investment companies in the UK with a diverse portfolio of over 100 retail, office, residential, and recreational assets.

 

 Martin is also a Board Trustee of International Justice Mission UK and holds a degree from the University of Cambridge in Natural and Computer Sciences.

GROUP HEAD OF COST, COMMERIAL AND PROCUREMENT

Benjamin Edwards

Ben Edwards is the Group Head of Cost, Commercial, and Procurement at Red Sea Global (RSG), Ben was appointed in August 2022, thanks to over 25 years of experience gained with major contractors in the UK, Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the Far East. He has a proven record of delivering complex building and civil engineering projects across the globe prior to joining RSG. 

 

Previously, he was Main Board Director of Tilbury Douglas in London, UK. Ben was responsible for the development and implementation of the business’s commercial strategy to undertake a greater proportion of lower-risk projects, blending the strengths of a strong regional business with public sector building and infrastructure frameworks, fit-out and a selective presence in the commercial development market. 

 

Ben has a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying from Northumbria University.

GROUP HEAD OF HEALTH & SAFETY

John Dunne

John Dunne is the Group Head of Health & Safety at Red Sea Global (RSG). He was appointed in August 2023, bringing more than 25 years of experience as a Health, Safety, and Environment professional from a diverse background in manufacturing, construction, engineering, consulting, and the military. 

 

John worked previously as Group Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Sustainability Director at Wates Group, where he successfully drove changes in behavioral safety, well-being, and sustainability and led award-winning health & safety and environmental campaigns. Before Wates, John was Balfour Beatty’s Global Head of Safety, Health, and Environment, overseeing a dramatic improvement in worker safety at the company’s businesses in the Middle East, Hong Kong, and the United States.

 

He has also worked as a health & safety consultant for clients including Toyota, Coca-Cola, Siemens and Stena Shipping. John spent the first decade of his career in the UK’s Royal Navy, serving as a diver, bomb disposal specialist, and member of the Maritime Special Forces.

 

John holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Royal Navy’sDefence School of Marine Engineering. He also earned a postgraduate diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Management from the UK’s Nottingham Trent University. He is achartered member of the UK-based Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

GROUP HEAD OF HOSPITALITY

Sébastien Carré

Sébastien Carré is the Group Head of Hospitality at Red Sea Global (RSG), a closed joint stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.  

 

In this role, he spearheads the hospitality functions for The Red Sea and AMAALA, two groundbreaking regenerative tourism destinations that will elevate Saudi Arabia's position in global tourism.

 

With over 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Sébastien has an impressive background in managing multi-properties, improving, and developing high-end hotels, resorts, and serviced residences. His expertise includes global insights into luxury lifestyle, travel, and residential developments. 

 

Sébastien's tenure includes notable roles in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Ocean and Pacific Islands, where he managed and oversaw multiple Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, demonstrating his ability to lead teams to success in diverse markets. 

 

Before joining RSG, Sébastien was Regional Vice President at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. He oversaw properties in the Seychelles, Abu Dhabi, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, South Africa and led a comprehensive reinvention of the brand’s presence in Mauritius, significantly improving financial performance and achieving record-breaking results. He has also held leadership roles at Four Seasons in Johannesburg, Sharm El Sheikh, Bora Bora, Provence, and Washington DC, among others. 

 

Sébastien is a graduate of VATEL Hospitality & Tourism Business School in Lyon, France, and is fluent in English and French.
