Passionate, ambitious, inspired, risk-taking, and goal-oriented, we are all of these and more at The Red Sea Development Company. Perhaps this is what makes us proud, as our dream of a regenerative luxury tourism destination becomes a reality. Soon, our guests at The Red Sea and Amaala will enjoy unparalleled experiences. We are confident that our journey will show the world how Saudi Arabia is fast becoming a premier tourist destination.

I was honored to represent the company at our pavilion at the 29th Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, UAE in May. This was our third time at ATM, an annual global event that continues to play a leading role in the Middle East’s travel and tourism sector. The exhibition is a major meeting place for ideas and launching initiatives that contribute to the development of the tourism and hospitality industry. And I could see how much the attendees admired the development of Saudi tourism.

Our pavilion at ATM displayed the new face of Saudi Arabia and was praised for the tourism giga-projects that the Kingdom has undertaken. According to a 2020 report issued by the Middle East and North Africa Leisure Attractions Council (Menalac), Saudi Arabia is investing three trillion riyals ($810 billion) into massive tourism projects over the decade.

The leading role of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Tourism Authority in promoting the sector and increasing its share of the economy, with the help and support of countries worldwide, will enable us to realize our vision. In addition, the potential tourism projects disclosed by the Saudi Tourism Development Fund, which amounts to six billion riyals ($1.6 billion), with participation from the private sector’s four billion riyals ($1.06 billion) investment, will make the tourism sector 10 percent of the Kingdom’s GDP by 2030.

I am in awe watching The Red Sea destination manifest into what it is today, from its inaugural groundbreaking to our spectacular luxury resorts inspired by nature, the beautiful pristine islands and privileged location. International luxury hotel brands with smart and sustainable mandates that respect the environment will enhance the experience of our destination. Our dream has become a reality. Now we await our first guests to experience the new and unique side of Saudi Arabian hospitality.
