Riyadh, 26 Mar 2024: Red Sea Global (RSG) has achieved an impressive milestone of 6,500,000 hours worked without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) to date at Shebara resort.

Ahmed Ismail, Head of Projects at RSG, said: “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and commitment of everyone involved in the project, including contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, and RSG employees.”

RSG drives a proactive health and safety monitoring program, including conducting monthly “life crucial” audits for contractors to identify gaps and areas of improvement. Emergency preparation and response are prioritized, with robust emergency response and planning strategies in place, including sea evacuation and medivac drills by helicopter.

Worker welfare standards are a top priority at Shebara resort, with a site-wide campaign focusing on optimizing safety and regular inspections to ensure corrective actions are executed. Continuous safety campaigns spread awareness on important topics such as safe driving, working at height, hand-held power tools, and excavation and trenching protection.

John Dunne, Group Head of Health and Safety at RSG, said: "Working 6.5m hours without a lost time injury demonstrates that the team at Shebara are dedicated and committed to achieving excellence in safety.  Like all of our RSG projects, health, safety, and environmental considerations are at the forefront of our planning and preparation, with strict requirements for contractors to follow and document. New contractors are required to have approved Health, Safety, and Environmental plans before commencing construction works, which are then monitored by our team to ensure compliance throughout the duration of their delivery period."

RSG has recently conducted a health & safety climate survey to gather feedback and insight from all project employees and participants. This inclusive approach contributes to creating a strong safety culture for all involved.
