Protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, and setting a new standard for responsible development.
At Red Sea Global, we’re led by science and inspired by nature. Every decision begins with data and ends with care for the ecosystems that define Saudi Arabia’s west coast.
We study before we build, monitor as we operate, and adapt as we grow
- proving that progress can enhance the natural world instead of harming it.
Our commitment to the planet is measurable and enduring.

Renewable energy across destinations
Our environmental work starts long before development begins. Using research, innovation, and technology, we understand our surroundings and plan with precision.
Mapping 28,000 km² of sea and coastline to determine where to build and where to conserve.
Multi-year research on coral reefs, seagrass, mangroves, and wildlife to inform responsible development.
Thousands of sensors collecting real-time data to guide adaptive environmental management.
We aim to achieve a 30% net conservation gain across our destinations by 2040, restoring habitats and enhancing biodiversity across land and sea.
Safely moving coral colonies to protected zones with exceptional survival rates.
Re-establishing mangrove forests to stabilise coasts and capture carbon.
Preserving meadows that nurture marine life and store blue carbon.
The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations are powered by sunlight thanks to 1.1 million+ PV panels and the off-grid battery energy storage system (BESS) at 1,900+ MWh. The renewable utilities infrastructure powers RSG’s operational resorts and assets, Red Sea International Airport (RSI), employee villages, and other supporting infrastructure.
Surplus solar energy is Stored by the BESS during the day so that the destination operates 24/7 as a fully integrated, 100% off-grid energy network. This clean energy ecosystem also powers the EV fleet and charging infrastructure, connectivity including the 5G network, district cooling, and the entire water cycle, from desalination and wastewater treatment to irrigation. Together, these operations set a new benchmark for sustainable tourism, demonstrating how large-scale destinations can operate entirely on clean, renewable energy.
Green building is an approach to designing, constructing, and operating buildings that reduce environmental impact while creating healthier spaces for people. By integrating sustainability from the earliest stages of development, green buildings can lower energy and water consumption, contributing to more resilient long-term operations. At RSG, these principles are embedded throughout the lifecycle of our developments, shaping how assets are planned, built, and managed. Our resorts are designed to deliver exceptional guest experiences through features such as excellent indoor air quality, abundant natural daylight, and strong connections to the surrounding landscape.
To measure and validate performance against international best practices, RSG pursues globally recognized green building certifications, including LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design). RSG is targeting LEED certification for 100% of its resorts and at least 75% of its total built-up area.
RSG is implementing Zero and low carbon mobility solutions across its destinations to reduce transport-related emissions while providing convenient and efficient transportation for guests and employees. This includes guest and operational vehicle fleets supported by more than 500 EV charging stations, as well as logistics vehicles powered by electricity and 100% Biofuel.
This commitment extends to our subsidiary Fly Red Sea; the first seaplane company in the Kingdom, operating with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to transport guests to island resorts.
Together, these initiatives support RSG’s net zero 2030 ambitions to decarbonize transportation across air, land, and sea at its destinations.
