Red Sea International Airport (RSI) is a sustainable gateway opening Saudi Arabia up to the world. Guests are guaranteed a seamless and luxurious journey as they arrive to and depart from their stay at The Red Sea or Amaala. RSI is pioneering a new operational approach to reduce the time spent completing the arrival or departure process. There will be no baggage claims area. Instead luggage will be delivered to guests’ hotel room to shorten processing times.

Features state-of-the-art facilities, including a world-class spa and fitness center, remote destination dining areas as well as a feature lagoon oasis

Accommodation built inside of the mountain, with interiors that have been excavated from the rock

Rooms offer undisrupted views of the dramatic desert landscape

Guests will be able to hike across the stunning landscape, use dune buggies, and star gaze as part of the site-wide activities program

Airside contract award

13 JULY 2020 We awarded our biggest contract to date to an all-Saudi joint venture between Nesma & Partners and Almabani for airside infrastructure works for the destination’s international airport, set to open in 2022. The contract was awarded to support the creation of a sustainable gateway which will open up Saudi Arabia to the world.

Airport Operator Contract

5 JANUARY 2021 We awarded a contract to daa International as operator of The Red Sea Project’s unique and iconic airport. daa International will provide airfield and terminal operations, aviation services, facilities management and commercial activities, as well as corporate and financial services.

Airport Design

With an iconic design inspired by the naturalbeauty of the surrounding desert landscape and running entirely on renewable energy, our airport will offer an unforgettable experience from the moment visitors land. Prioritizing the natural environment and ensuring it is protected has informed the design from the ground up. We are pioneering an innovative use of natural shading and there is tranquil green space throughout.
